29th March 2019 is the date.
The Spanish luxury house of LOEWE just announced they will be dropping a limited edition capsule collection inspired by the Disney cartoon character, “Dumbo”. This comes as an extension of their Spring/ Summer 2019 ready-to-wear apparel and accessories.
“This limited line of products builds on the positive nostalgia that the loveable Disney cartoon conjures in everyone’s mind,” the brand said in a release.
Dumbo was first introduced in 1941 in an animation by Walt Disney. The baby elephant resided in a circus and he was often taunted by his fellow peers for having huge ears, and was nicknamed “Dumbo”. Despite the taunting and bullying, Dumbo rose to the occasion one day at the circus, pulled off a circus stunt and flew around the premises. It was a simple storyline — but it was one about self-confidence, belief, conviction, and mental strength.
An upcoming film remake of Dumbo is set to be released in the United States on the very same day, 29th March 2019, featuring the French actress Eva Green, American actors Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Alan Arkin, and the Irish actor Colin Farrell.
The 11-piece capsule collection from LOEWE sees a baby pink T-shirt (S$590), a navy sweatshirt (S$790), a jacket (S$7,550), a long-sleeved polo shirt (S$1,690), pyjamas pants (S$1,350), bermudas (S$3,990), a scarf (S$690), a leather T-Pouch (S$1,690), a small Goya leather backpack (S$3,390), alongside a full-sized Goya leather backpack (S$4,650).
While the collection is set to hit local LOEWE stores on the 29th March, a pre-sale event is scheduled to take place on the 28th March. Online registration is required.
As the film’s official account has it, “In 2019, find your courage.”
